John Seed Deep Ecology Workshop, August 19-20, Narara Ecovillage

In his experiential Deep Ecology Workshops, John Seed has describes psychedelics as a dance between rainforest protection and spiritual connection with the natural world.

The man who coined the term “deep ecology”, the late Arne Naess, said that ecological ideas are not enough to save us from our slide to oblivion. What we need, Arne claimed, is ecological identity, ecological self. And, he called for the development of “community therapies” to heal the illusion of separation between humans and the more-than-human world. Since 1986, working with Joanna Macy and others, John Seed has been developing and facilitating experiential processes that give body to Naess’s call while he continues to work for the protection of forests worldwide.

John Seed will be offering one of his highly sought after, weekend-long deep ecology immersions at the Narara Ecovillage (about an hour north of Sydney) from Friday evening August 18th through to the Sunday afternoon. John also has workshops coming up in Melbourne, Kyogle and Tassie later this year. 25% of the proceeds from tickets sold via this link will  go to EGA.

Nick Sun, whom many of you will know (and who co-facilitated a recent deep ecology weekend with John) said:

“your workshop does the same kind of work of healing disconnection between humans and nature that psychedelic plant medicine can do as well, just without the plants. “

Another old friend in our community, Col Hawkshaw, said:

“I left the weekend on a high, feeling as healed, full of love, full of insights and epiphanies, as if I had been to a Medicine retreat. A temporary tribe is formed, under the guidance of a true Elder. And a greater sense of self and your place in the Cosmos is embodied thru the interactive workshop modules. Not just highly recommended.....essential.“
