Magic mushroom season is here!

For those in the southern states of Australia, Autumn is almost here, bringing the joy of magic mushrooms🍄🍂

If you don’t know how to identify mushrooms, you probably wish that you did! If you already know how to identify mushrooms, you probably get people asking you to check their finds. Help spread the spores and save everyone some time by reading and sharing Caine Barlow's An Introduction to Psilocybe subaeruginosa video and the Reference guide to Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Teaching others to better identify subs will save us all a lot of hard work this season, and Caine’s already created the lessons to assist us all.

Subs, or Psilocybe subaeruginosa mushrooms, are one of Australia's better known psilocybin containing species. Subs can easily be confused with a number of dangerous lookalikes. This video is a simple but crucial starting point before heading out into the field.

If you’re still having trouble identifying subs in the wild, or if you just want to do a deep dive into these special mushrooms, our Reference guide to Psilocybe subaeruginosa should be an important stepping stone in your journey.

Caine Barlow has been generous enough to help us develop this unique resource by reviewing the current literature and community knowledge around P. subaeruginosa. The guide includes species and habitat descriptions, history, pharmacology, poisonous lookalikes, and other safety and legal issues.

Entheogenesis Australis
