San Pedro Lookalikes: Identifying Trichocereus imposters

Whether you're always asking "is this cactus San Pedro?", or you're the one being asked, the new San Pedro lookalike guide should (hopefully) reduce unwarranted excitement over Cereus peruvianus.

With the help of EGA's resident cactus fiend, Dr Liam Engel, we've put together images and annotations of almost 20 genera that may be misidentified as San Pedro.

Liam is also responsible for this video on San Pedro. Some have asserted that San Pedro is an important, alternative source of mescaline that can be used to protect Peyote.

If you find this resource helpful, please support EGA so we can make more!
